REDESIGN OF ROYAL BOX AT GUARDS POLO BOX
Interior design specialists, Evitavonni, were chosen by Guards
Polo Club for one its most prestigious projects to date, the
complete redesign of The Royal Box. The newly designed Royal Box
will be officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen at a private
event on Sunday 26th April.
Universally regarded as the most exclusive and celebrated polo
club in the world, Guards Polo Club is steeped in tradition and
plays host to illustrious guests throughout the season.
Refurbishing The Royal Box provided Evitavonni with the perfect
space in which to unleash their expertise as the unique project
involved a completely bespoke brief for both the interior and
exterior gallery.
Colonel Paul Belcher, Chairman at Guards Polo Club comments:
"When looking for an interior designer to refurbish our Royal
Box, we needed a team with an eye for exquisite design so
Evitavonni completely fitted the bill and lived up to all of our
expectations. Head designer Kate Williams has designed a truly
impressive space which perfectly represents the elegance and
exclusivity of The Royal Box."
The Royal Box must offer luxurious comfort and reflect the high
standards of refinement for which Guards Polo Club is renowned.
However, as it is used so extensively throughout the polo season it
also needs to be a comfortable and functional space.
With this in mind Evitavonni's lead designer Kate Williams,
sourced beautiful furniture and accessories which reflect the
glamour of the location whilst offering the highest quality
finish.
In the entrance hall of The Royal Box, a stunning slate floor has
been set against understated stone coloured walls and enhanced by
two beautiful limestone console tables which are adorned with
elegant lamps and wall lights from Porta Romana. The stairs leading
to the gallery area feature a bespoke runner designed especially
for The Royal Box and lead straight out to the gallery area which
has been decorated with linen striped bench seats and red velvet
upholstered chairs.
In the main room, Evitavonni designed a bespoke carpet and used
embroidered linen curtains in a deep red and green paisley fabric.
All of the furniture has been upholstered in a rich olive brown
velvet fabric purposefully selected to complement The Royal Box's
elegant conference table.
The Evitavonni design team also worked with existing decorative
elements of the room including a series of beautiful paintings
which are now displayed in stunning green and gold frames. The
tones and materials used throughout have been carefully selected to
represent signature colours of the polo brand, thus sumptuous
browns, greens and reds feature alongside tactile velvet, linens
and leather.
The bathrooms were completely redesigned to include green and
silver copper mosaic tiles which are beautifully offset by high
gloss lacquered furniture crafted from the finest rosewood.
Leading Evitavonni designer Kate Williams comments;
"Evitavonni are incredibly honoured to be chosen to redesign
The Royal Box.
In order to do justice to such a prestigious project, we
immediately immersed ourselves in researching the finer details of
the stunning building and became captivated with the history and
tradition of Guards Polo Club. Every aspect of The Royal Box was
carefully explored to create a truly elegant concept befitting of
such a distinguished venue."
Charlie Stisted, CEO at Guards Polo Club, comments:
"Working
with local leading interior designers, Evitavonni, was a fantastic
experience for everyone at Guards Polo Club. The design team
impressed us with their efficiency throughout and expertly managed
the project to ensure it was completed quickly and with minimum
disruption to our surroundings.
They demonstrated excellent workmanship and professionalism, and
have provided us with a beautifully furnished Royal Box which we
are incredibly proud of."
